1996
Meritec was founded by brothers Ronan and Criostóir McLaughlin. The business was based in Blackrock then, and the objective was to introduce new projection technology to the Irish marketplace by partnering with leading suppliers, including Hitachi and Boxlight.
1998
By 1998 the company was serving 3 markets. The first Board Room projection solutions installations were underway for businesses across the country. Meritec also served the Domestic market with Home Entertainment technology. And in Education, the company worked across 3rd Level, 2nd Level and Primary Level facilities.
2005
As internal expertise grew and Meritec established itself as a leading supplier of cutting-edge Projection solutions, larger contracts were secured, including a significant contract the 02. The business was closely associated with world-class manufacturers and worked extensively with Panasonic and Hitachi.
2009
Meritec secured a significant installation project for Eircom, alongside other large contracts. The introduction of Plasma TVs into the workplace – going from 42” screens in earlier years to 103” displays by 2009 – opened many opportunities. The business moved to its existing premises in Kilcoole; a modern facility which facilitates strong logistical support for clients.
2010 – 2014
In the years following the economic downturn, Meritec tapped into the Education sector. The business was part of the government framework agreement for tech. in schools and ultimately the company installed projectors and interactive whiteboards in about 5,000 classrooms.
2015
As the corporate market rebounded, Meritec was well-positioned to deliver best-in-class solutions for many new clients, including Stryker. Installations continued to extend far beyond the Boardroom, with Reception areas, Town Hall spaces and small meeting rooms all requiring bespoke solutions.
2017
Meritec established our ongoing, successful partnership with PSNI Global Alliance – an alliance of elite technology integrators, manufacturers, distributors and service partners around the world. This has allowed us to multiply our resources, with access to talent and solutions on a global basis.
2021 - 2022
With the sudden passing of Criostóir McLaughlin RIP in 2021, co-founder and brother Ronan has continued to build on past success, working with high-profile clients like Car Trawler, the VHI, Stryker, Kingspan and many more.
